Creating better environments for health and well-being: people and places
The Supporting Healthy and Inclusive Neighbourhood Environments (SHINE) Health Integration Team and the Centre for Public Health and Wellbeing, UWE Bristol share a mission to enable change where people live that will improve their health and wellbeing. This is inclusive of policies that promote health and well-being, including areas such as liveable neighbourhoods and streets, housing, biodiversity and nature recovery, green social prescribing, community assets, sustainability practice and policy and future workforce development.
This special event, informed by the latest research and evidence from Tackling Root causes Upstream of Unhealthy Urban Development (TRUUD) and UWE’s NIHR Mental Health Development Award, will examine how we maximise key opportunities to move towards a workforce that generates more supportive environments and joined-up health, care and wellbeing systems.
This event in EP1 at UWE’s Frenchay campus in Bristol will provide a vibrant space for planners, commissioners, policy makers, providers, local authority colleagues, NGOs supporting homelessness/ housing/ mental health issues, criminal justice, those with disabilities or multiple/complex needs and future workforce development strategists to come together to discuss a system wide approach.
