North Bristol NHS Trust Chief Executive Andrea Young has taken over as chair of the Bristol Health Partners board.
Andrea said: “The role of Bristol Health Partners in shaping the health research landscape of Bristol is ever-increasing. It is an exciting time to take over as chair, as the board have committed to fund the partnership for a further five years. I look forward to building on the excellent work already done, and to lead the partnership to further success in the future.”
Bristol Health Partners Director Peter Mathieson said: “I am delighted to welcome Andrea to her new role as our chair. With my departure as Director in March, the chair’s role will be vital as the new director settles in, offering continuity to the partnership. I would like to take the opportunity to thank our outgoing chair, Deborah Evans, for all she has done during her four year tenure.”
Andrea Young has been Chief Executive of North Bristol NHS Trust since September. Before this she was Regional Director (South) for NHS England and Chief Operating Officer of NHS South of England Strategic Health Authorities (SHAs). Prior to this she was Chief Executive of NHS South Central SHA and NHS Oxfordshire PCT.
Andrea takes over from Deborah Evans, who was chair for four years and who will continue to sit on the board in her new capacity as Managing Director of the Academic Health Science Network for the West of England.
