Free toilet provision in public spaces is a necessity for a socially inclusive society. But there is no legal requirement for local authorities to provide or run public toilets and, in times of austerity, local councils have been closing public toilets.

The Supporting Healthy Inclusive Neighbourhood Environments (SHINE) Heath Integration Team (HIT) is hosting on behalf of Bristol Health Partners an evening session to highlight the need for clean, convenient and accessible toilets for public use, including for many people who need to plan their activities around the availability of toilets:

Speakers

  • Professor Nikki Cotterill, Professor in Continence Care, University of the West of England, Bristol and BABCON HIT Director
  • Charlotte Warmington and Barbara Segal, ACORN Union, ‘Unlock Bristol’s Public Toilets’ campaign
  • Helen Jaffa, People & Culture Manager, Watershed
  • Dr Suzanne Audrey, SHINE HIT Director and Bristol Walking Alliance

Please do join us for an engaging event at the Watershed in Bristol.
