The Bristol Walking Festival kicks off with a Compass Walk. Different walks start at different times in the north east, north west, south east and south west of the city, all converging on Millennium Square at the end.

These four walking routes are around 10 miles from the Bristol’s outer suburbs to the City Centre. Each route snakes its way through green spaces, past points of interest, stopping off at friendly community venues, and bringing different organisations and residents together to celebrate walking in the city.

The four suburb-to-city routes are broken down into one to three mile sections. Join the walk for one or more sections or meet in the city centre to welcome the walkers in. Some sections are accessible by all and others are more adventurous, so again, there’s something for everyone.

Walks will start mid to late morning and all four routes will converge in Millennium Square at just after 5pm.

You can download the route map for the Compass Walk (pdf, 655k).

City Centre reception, Thursday 28 April, 5.45 to 7.30pm

Partners, supporters, walkers and volunteers are invited to meet, mingle and find out more about the coming month of walks.
