Join the Eating Disorders Health Integration Team (EDHIT) for our mindful mandala workshop, where you will have the opportunity to learn the basic skills and techniques to produce your very own beautiful piece of art.
Open to those with lived experience of eating difficulties or eating disorders who live in Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire and the surrounding area. Friends, family and supporters of loved ones with eating difficulties are also encouraged to attend.
This is a relaxed and fun activity – no experience is necessary and all materials will be provided. Through the process of repeated small actions and watching your mandala emerge, you will find it also helps to bring a sense of centre and balance into your wellbeing.
This event will include a performance by UWE Bristol student, Chandini Sree, who will showcase her eating disorder research through Bharatnatyam dance, exploring ‘the development of disordered eating attitudes and behaviour in South Asian university students in the UK’.
Pre-event submissions
Mandalas often represent harmony, wholeness and balance. So, we’re keen to hear ‘what fills your heart and keeps your wellbeing in balance?’
We welcome you to share your ideas with us (anonymously) using Padlet prior to the event:
- What do you find enjoyable or rewarding?
- What brings peace into your life?
- What has helped inspire inner hope?
You can post any words, images or places that fill your heart (inner wellbeing). It could be a favourite Instagram quote or mantra, a wellbeing activity you enjoy, song lyrics, a favourite poem, a photo of your pet – anything at all! Even if you can’t make the event, we’d still love to hear your thoughts via Padlet.
