Reasonable adjustments for dis

This workshop for health professionals and disabled people is run by the Norah Fry Centre for Disability Studies, University of Bristol.

It aims to address the current provision of reasonable adjustments for disabled people by hospital services.

Its objectives are for participants to:

• hear about examples of good practice from around the country about how individual hospitals provide reasonable adjustments to their services for disabled people
• identify strategies that are working, and those that could be developed, within their own hospital
• discuss why some hospitals are better able than others in providing reasonable adjustments to their services for disabled people
• plan how to ‘get things changed’ to maximise the delivery of reasonably adjusted hospital services
• fully understand their responsibilities, and that of their hospital, in providing reasonably adjusted services for disabled people

Access

They are committed to ensuring that any necessary reasonable adjustments are provided for disabled participants.

• The event will be held in a level-access building, with automatic doors
• The building is fitted with a hearing loop system
• A British Sign Language interpreter will be present
• Information provided to delegates will be available in large print
• Free parking, including disabled parking spaces, will be available. If you require a disabled car parking space, please let them know on the booking form

On registering for this event, you will be given the opportunity to note any other reasonable adjustments you would like them to provide. A member of the research team will then contact you to discuss these needs further, if required.
