Calling all medics who support 20mph

Bristol's 20mph limits are under threat, as Bristol City Council is consulting on increasing the speed limit from 20mph on 83 roads, with only six 30mph roads up for review. We want the health community in Bristol to voice their support for 20mph.

Bristol’s 20mph safer speed limits are under threat, as Bristol City Council is consulting on increasing the speed limit from 20mph on 83 roads, with only six 30mph roads up for review. Bristol Health Partners wants the health community in Bristol to voice their support for 20mph, which has been shown to save lives, reduce injuries and save public services £15 million a year.

Could you be part of Medics for 20mph?

It involves some (or all!) of the following:

  • Regular quotes from different medics for use on social media and in a press release – we can offer themes or leave it to you. We have past briefing notes on the peer reviewed evidence
  • A photo of a group of Medics for 20mph in a hospital setting
  • Media interviews. We have subject specialists who can advise on the international evidence base
  • Letter writing to local councillors, MPs and local media (we can supply suggested wording)
