CLAHRC West announces latest round for project proposals

The National Institute for Health Research Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care West (NIHR CLAHRC West) has announced the latest round for project proposals, which closes on 7 March. In this round, CLAHRC West are looking to prioritise projects that focus on integrated working across the health system, or effective and efficient ‘optimal care’.

David Relph, Bristol Health Partners Director, said:

“This call represents an important opportunity for the HITs to get support for their work and I urge you all to consider how your implementation plans could fit into the CLAHRC ‘integrated care’ call. The NIHR have encouraged CLAHRC West to prioritise this call on implementation (as well as research), and it represents a great chance to make some of your plans a reality.”

CLAHRC West Director Jenny Donovan said:

“I am delighted to say that we in the CLAHRC West are now working on over 30 research and implementation projects initiated by colleagues in our partner organisations, running research training courses, and actively encouraging greater patient and public involvement. Some of our first projects will be completed over the next six months, and so we have enough capacity to launch this new call for proposals. The 2016 call is based on soundings from our partner organisations about some of the key issues facing the local health economy that we, as a research organisation, could contribute to. We have also had a clear steer from our funding body, NIHR, that we need to increase our involvement in implementation – using existing evidence or newly collected data to guide proposed changes and evaluating the impact of putting such changes into practice, for example.”
