Dr Deborah Evans is awarded UWE Bristol Honorary Degree

The Honorary Degree of Doctor of Science from the University of the West of England (UWE) was awarded to Dr Deborah Evans on the 26 November, in recognition of her significant contribution in the field of health.

The Honorary Degree of Doctor of Science from the University of the West of England (UWE) was awarded to Dr Deborah Evans on the 26 November, in recognition of her significant contribution in the field of health.

Deborah Evans is the Managing Director of the West of England Academic Health Sciences Network which is a diverse network of partners working to put innovation at the heart of healthcare, improve patient outcomes and put evidence into practice. She is also a Board member of the Bristol Health Partners, a strategic collaboration which helps health service providers in Bristol and the surrounding areas integrate more effectively with researchers, academics and each other.

Deborah has worked in a variety of hospital management and commissioning roles and was previously Chief Executive of Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire Primary Care Trust Cluster. She has been a health service manager for nearly 30 years and has a longstanding commitment to supporting the development of health service research. Not only does she successfully lead collaborations such as Bristol Health Partners, but she is a champion for public health.
