Guidelines for patient and public involvement in evaluation launched

A new quick guide to patient and public involvement (PPI) in evaluation has been launched on the CLAHRC West website. The leaflet is for evaluators and commissioners of evaluation in health and social care.

It offers an accessible guide to support anyone working in evaluation to embed PPI in their evaluation activities and to ensure that public contributors really feel part of the evaluation team.

It outlines an approach to PPI in evaluation that is meaningful, collaborative, supportive, developmental, effective, reflective and ethical.

The leaflet has been co-produced by patients, service users and members of the South West Evaluator Forum, with funding from the UK Evaluation Society. Production was supported by the West of England Evaluation Strategy Group.

It is available electronically and as a tri-fold printable leaflet on the evaluation pages of the CLAHRC West website.
