The Bristol City Council Sustainable Transport team are
partnering with Age UK Bristol to launch a free walking app at the end of
April.
There will be a new Bristol section on an already established app called Go Jauntly. The app includes other areas across England with some great projects in London and Southampton.
The platform will be used by residents to access walks
throughout the year and as a virtual home for the much loved and popular WalkFest 2021.
The
hope is to bring together a host of walks from communities, organisations and
individuals across Bristol, as the platform can be used by anyone to create a
walk. The walks can be separated into categories and themes e.g. history, family
friendly, retail, short walks etc. The aim is to have a real mix that can
be enjoyed by all.
The full feature of the app currently only works on IOS,
although you can access a lot on Android. Part of the work taking place over
the next few months will be to bring most of the functionality to android
devices including the ability to create walks.
To showcase the features and demonstrate how to create walks
we have organised a webinar on 23rd February 11.00-12.00.

The event is open to all and the session will be led by Darron Hamilton from Bristol City Council, Karen Lloyd from Age UK Bristol and APPHLE HIT and Claudette Anderson from Go Jauntly.
Once created, all of these new Bristol walking routes will be available for FREE on the Go Jauntly walking app and can be downloaded in advance so that they are available in offline mode.
