Bristol City Council is consulting on 20mph speed limits in Bristol, with 83 20mph roads and six 30mph roads up for review. If you’re concerned that a move back to 30mph is not the direction the city should be travelling in, here’s what you can do.
Respond to the consultation
This is the most important action you can take! Respond to the consultation to tell the council that you want to keep all 20mph roads in your area. There’s even an opportunity to have some roads reduced from 30mph to 20mph in some places. You can also respond on other wards, not just your own.
Write to your councillor and MP
Use our letter templates to write to your councillor and your MP to make sure they’re aware of the potential impact of the consultation on their constituents. Councillors should be visiting people in the affected 20mph streets so that they are aware of the consultation. You can also send them our evidence briefing so they are fully informed about 20mph.
