SHINE's Ben Barker awarded MBE in Queen's birthday honours

Community activist Ben Barker, who is on the Supporting Healthy Inclusive Neighbourhood Environments (SHINE) leadership team, has been awarded an MBE in the Queen’s birthday honours.

Ben is a member of the Greater Bedminster Community Partnership and involved in the Bedminster Town Team. He was recognised “for services to the community in Greater Bedminster, Bristol”.

Ben said:

“It’s a huge honour of course – if slightly embarrassing. I see this as recognition for the whole team. I know so many others who are equally deserving of such recognition!”
