Bristol Walk Fest is a walking festival that runs from 1– 31 May to coincide with Living Streets’ National Walking Month.
The festival began over a decade ago to inspire and encourage people of all ages to explore Bristol by foot. The festival includes walks across Bristol that you can enjoy either individually or with others, with inclusive walks and events for people of all ages, interests, and abilities. The walks are either free or low-cost, providing everyone with an opportunity to get to know their city.
This year’s festival is set to be the biggest one yet with over 80 walk providers involved in running more than 150 different events and activities during May. The festival is run by Age UK Bristol as a part of their Active Ageing programme but is open to people of all ages.
Karen Lloyd, Active Lives HIT Co-director and Festival Director said:
“It’s fantastic to be celebrating the launch of Bristol’s annual walking festival. Every year a huge amount of work goes into planning the festival and I’d like to say a big thank you to all of our wonderful walk providers who have helped create such a varied programme. I look forward to welcoming thousands of walkers from across the city!”
