Janice St. John-Matthews, Associate Head of the Department for Allied Health Professions (AHP) at UWE Bristol, has won a national award celebrating rising stars in education and academia.
Now in their third year, these annual awards are celebrating 100 individual female contributors who represent the future leaders and role models of tomorrow across twenty different industries. They aim to encourage organisations to consider how they strengthen the development of their female pipeline and provide opportunities for their female workforce to climb the ranks within their organisations.
Janice St. John-Matthews said:
“I am honoured to have been named a 2017 Rising Star. The awards were entered by 1,250 individuals and judged by a panel of 33 independent judges. Over 35,000 public votes were received for the 200 shortlisted nominees. I would like to extend a thank you to Jenny Garrett, Executive Coach and Director of Reflexion Associates Ltd, who nominated me for this award. I’d also like to say a big thank you to everyone who took the time to vote for me. The support from colleagues and students has been overwhelming.”
